The employee portfolio journey is a starting point for all projects. The next step is a deep dive into an identified pain-point. A deep-dive journey is the start of solution thinking.
Creative idea generation sessions are often used to create a common understanding of the problem, to generate solution space, and to define concept directions.
At my job as a digital workplace consultant and following design thinking approach, I facilitate user research in the form of creative idea generation sessions.
During different courses I gained the knowledge on the subject and the confidence to facilitate and participate creative idea generation sessions.
The skills to provide these sessions are mainly focused on understanding the preferred process that stimulates creativity in a group session, understand the purpose of the different phases, being able to follow the process and being able to lead sessions based on this process. Furthermore, it is about getting familiar with different type of creative idea generation methods like brainstorming with post its, brain drawing and flower associations.
